About our Company
We are a certified minority-owned uniform and apparel company with over 68 years of business experience. Our company is now a third-generation owned and operated uniform and apparel business. We have accomplished our company goals through quality service, uniforms, professionalism, courteousness, and competitive pricing. Several of our family members and owners were public servants who wore uniforms during their careers.

SCHOOL UNIFORMS
A-1 Uniform City & Embroidery LLC continues to supply the Camden City Schools and other area charter and public schools with uniforms that are both embroidered and silkscreened. The company has supplied school uniforms for over 68 years at the Camden City location.
Police and Security Uniforms
A-1 Uniform City & Embroidery LLC family owners are former and retired law enforcement officers and military servicemen who wore uniforms and whose parents and relatives have sold uniforms for over 68 years between the Camden and the former Chicago Illinois location.
Hospitality and Service Uniform
A-1 Uniform City & Embroidery LLC staff has supplied and sold hospitality uniforms for several years to major corporations, government agencies, public companies, and private companies. Our goal is to increase our uniform sales in the hospitality and service areas.
About us
Our family history is rich in uniform and apparel businesses encompassing over 68 years of tailoring and selling uniforms. The patriarch of the legacy is Mr. William and Shirley Day who incorporated J&D Uniforms in 1957 in the state of Illinois. At that time, the company was the first registered black owned uniform business in the state of Illinois. The owner's Godson and current operator began working in the Chicago store in 1987 while attending DePaul University. The business was sold in 1990 to R& R Uniforms, allowing the family to open their own uniform business the following year in Camden, New Jersey. The acquisition and merger of several uniform companies resulted in the family owning and operating A-1 Uniform City & Embroidery LLC.
The A-1 Uniform City store front has been in existence for over 70 years. A family member has worked in the Camden store location for most of its existence. The family currently operates the store with its third generation of family members. The family members are retired law enforcement, Military, and corporate executives.
The business is a full uniform and apparel provider supplying everything uniform and accessory. The Camden location supplies tailoring, silk-screening, and embroidery services on site. A-1 Uniform City & Embroidery LLC provides school, police, fire, hospital, maintenance, construction, hospitality, nursing, medical, government, professional, sports, and other uniforms. The company participates in private, public and government bids and RFPs nationwide.
